Role Overview
With product-market fit established, FrontrowMD is seeking a full-time Head of People to lead all aspects of HR for their expanding team of approximately 50 employees. This role covers talent acquisition, people operations, compliance, employee relations, culture building, and strategic partnership with leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruiting including candidate sourcing, first-round interviews, background checks, and delivering high-quality candidate experiences.
- Develop scalable hiring processes, consistent scorecards, and maintain interview standards aligned to growth.
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration including health insurance, and manage annual contract renewals.
- Maintain accurate employee records via HRIS/PEO systems and ensure audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws across a distributed workforce.
- Serve as first point of contact for employee inquiries; assist managers with performance management and handle offboarding matters sensitively.
- Maintain and update company policies for clarity, compliance, and effective communication.
- Foster a strong remote-first culture by organizing biannual team retreats and leading onboarding processes to enhance new hire integration.
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and compensation strategy.
- Execute special projects as needed in partnership with the CEO.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in HR or People operations, preferably within dynamic startup environments.
- Proven expertise managing payroll and benefits, ideally with Rippling platform experience.
- Strong understanding of US multi-state employment laws to ensure full compliance.
- Demonstrated capability in full-cycle recruiting from sourcing through offer management.
- Comfortable building HR functions independently; self-starting, process-oriented, and action-driven mindset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with high discretion regarding confidential topics.
- Calm and sound judgment when managing difficult employee relations situations.
- Desirable: experience with scaling during Series A/B funding rounds, HR certifications (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR), and background in regulated sectors such as health and wellness.
