Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is with a well-funded, rapidly expanding grab-and-go food business operating more than 30 sites across Europe, with plans to keep growing. The company is looking for its first Head of People to establish the people function from scratch and help shape the next phase of growth.
You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team in a founder-led environment, influencing culture, developing future leaders, and putting in place the people foundations needed for scaling the business.
The role is based in London and includes one work-from-home day each week. The salary offered is between £65,000 and £70,000.
What you will do
- Create and execute the overall people strategy.
- Design practical, scalable HR policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Work with managers and senior leaders to build strong, high-performing teams.
- Own recruitment activity and strengthen the employer brand.
- Support learning, development, and leadership growth across the business.
- Manage employee relations matters and maintain compliance with UK employment requirements.
- Help build a workplace culture where both people and performance can succeed.
What the company is looking for
- A seasoned people leader who enjoys creating systems and functions rather than simply running existing ones.
- Comfort working in entrepreneurial, fast-moving settings.
- A commercially aware mindset with the ability to combine big-picture thinking and hands-on delivery.
- Solid understanding of UK employment law.
- Background in hospitality, retail, leisure, or another multi-site, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Genuine interest in culture-building, people development, and business growth.
Why this role stands out
This is a chance to establish a people function from the ground up, shape the full employee experience, and become a core part of an ambitious leadership team with international growth plans. Your ideas will directly influence how the business grows and evolves.
