Job description

Overview

The Golf Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering children and young people by introducing them to golf, enhancing their confidence, wellbeing, and lifelong interest in the sport regardless of their background. This newly established leadership role aims to expand the Foundation's reach and deepen its community impact through strategic partnerships and event-driven initiatives across Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand national partnerships within Scotland, Ireland, and Wales in close collaboration with the CEO, fostering robust and enduring relationships.
  • Oversee flagship partnership programs from conception through execution, ensuring meaningful opportunities for young participants.
  • Leverage major golf championships to create sustainable local engagement initiatives that outlast the events themselves.
  • Track and convey impact using both quantitative data and compelling narratives to broaden awareness beyond the golf community.
  • Identify new avenues for investment, sponsorship, and collaboration, crafting persuasive proposals with team input.
  • Participate as a Senior Management Team member contributing to organizational strategy, regularly reporting to the CEO and Board.

Success Milestones in Year One

  • Effectively launch the Scottish junior golf program, showcasing impactful results beyond the sport.
  • Forge trusted, long-term partnerships across the targeted regions with strategic plans for expansion.
  • Create legacy programs around major championships that engage increasing numbers of youth.
  • Provide the Board, partners, and funders with confidence through well-evidenced impact reports combining data and storytelling.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced in establishing and managing strategic partnerships among large organizations in any field.
  • Proficient in managing multifaceted programs involving multiple stakeholders while achieving collective goals.
  • Skilled in communicating with board members, executives, funders, and senior-level stakeholders in a clear and credible manner.
  • Demonstrated competency in negotiating agreements and cultivating strong partnership relationships.
  • Able to assess impact effectively and present findings both quantitatively and narratively.
  • Passionate about providing youth opportunities and belief in sport's transformative power.

Additional Details

  • Applicants must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • This role is home-based but includes regular UK and Ireland travel and requires attendance at the Hertfordshire head office approximately once per week.
