Position Overview

This opportunity is presented on behalf of a partner company seeking a Head of Operations located in Mexico. This role represents a senior leadership position for an operations specialist to architect and expand the operational foundation of a global financial services firm that operates fully remotely.

The successful candidate will supervise key operational functions to ensure efficiency, compliance, resilience, and excellent service delivery. The role includes leadership of multidisciplinary teams in areas such as payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive operations strategy aligning with business goals, focusing on scalability, efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Lead and manage core operational segments including payments, treasury, reconciliations, card operations, back-office, and general business operations.
• Accept accountability for operational performance by setting and tracking clear metrics, controls, and initiatives aimed at service excellence.
• Advance process optimization and automation through structured methodologies, leveraging technology, data, and AI solutions.
• Develop and enforce standardized operating procedures to boost consistency, efficiency, and operational transparency.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with compliance, risk, and financial crime departments to uphold regulatory and policy adherence.
• Establish operational risk management frameworks consisting of monitoring, reporting, controls, and audit preparedness.
• Work cross-functionally with leadership in technology, data, human resources, and client-facing teams for aligned business operations.
• Oversee end-to-end digital asset settlement functions including reconciliation, wallet management, custody controls, and crypto-fiat processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience leading operations in banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management sectors.
• Proven track record managing and scaling multiple operational functions such as payments, treasury, settlements, and business operations.
• Expertise in process enhancements, operational transformation, automation, and scalable workflow construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, AML frameworks, and financial crime prevention standards.
• Experienced in leading diverse teams and cultivating high-performing operational units.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-resolution abilities.
• Strategic thinker capable of translating corporate objectives into practical operational plans.
• Valuable experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset operations.
• Capable of thriving in a fully remote and global workplace with autonomy and collaborative mindset.
