Job description

Role Overview

This position leads the Operation & Submarine Training Command Systems (OSC) group, comprising experts from navigation and command & control systems. The role entails overseeing qualifications, professional growth of staff and managing interdisciplinary interfaces including Sales, Product Management, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to the OSC group.
  • Ensure tailored qualification and personal development of team members.
  • Manage active interfaces and projects ensuring interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Plan, direct, and optimize resource and personnel deployment across multiple projects including commissioning, sea trials, and ship operations.
  • Hold accountability for hourly and cost budgets and monitor workload distribution.
  • Coordinate preparation, execution, and follow-up of training sessions for military crews and technical staff and conduct internal technical courses.
  • Create and maintain ship management documentation.
  • Drive the strategic development and management of the OSC group aligned with departmental goals.

Profile and Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, economics, maritime studies, or equivalent with extensive professional experience.
  • STCW 95 certification preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience including situational leadership, motivation, and staff development, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • High degree of self-responsibility, assertiveness, and adaptability in complex scenarios.
  • Systematic, conceptual working style with strong technical comprehension.
  • Fluent written and spoken communication in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
