A company operating within the manufacturing and construction sectors seeks an experienced Head of IT to lead and improve its technological infrastructure. This leadership position focuses on evaluating current key business software, enhancing their utilization, integrating platforms seamlessly, refining workflows, and spearheading digital transformation projects.

The organization currently employs robust business systems covering purchasing, finance, design, scheduling, planning, and infrastructure. There is a significant reliance on Excel-based processes, and the aim is to analyze the current operational state ('As Is'), uncover integration opportunities among systems, enhance data flows, and utilize insights for improved forecasting, planning, and decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
- Examine existing core business systems to confirm their suitability and effectiveness.
- Evaluate current usage patterns and pinpoint areas for optimization.
- Locate disconnects between systems such as purchasing, finance, design, scheduling, and planning, suggesting possible integration strategies.
- Create and implement system integrations to refine workflow efficiency.
- Enhance processes relating to performance, reporting precision, planning accuracy, and resource scheduling.
- Define and lead initiatives for digital transformation aligned with corporate strategy.
- Manage organizational change effectively to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and practices.
Experience and Skills Required
- Extensive IT background with expertise in technology, business-critical systems, data management, digital initiatives, and transformation.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing, construction, or operations-intensive environments.
- Demonstrated experience in system review and optimization.
- Proven ability to improve operational processes through system integration or modernization initiatives.
- Experience in designing and executing digital transformation projects.
- Strong change management skills with the ability to guide teams and stakeholders through transitions.
- A pragmatic, outcome-focused approach to delivering tangible business benefits.
