Director of Operations

About the Role

Precision Talent Partners is seeking a Director of Operations for a reputable and expanding food and beverage manufacturing company based in Charlotte, NC. This direct-hire, full-time leadership position offers an annual salary range of $140,000 to $170,000 plus performance-based variable compensation. The Director of Operations will have a pivotal role, reporting to the President, in shaping the operational strategy and ensuring excellent execution across production, manufacturing, quality assurance, safety, and supply chain management. This is a strategic, high-visibility role ideal for an operations executive passionate about building effective teams, advancing continuous improvements, and scaling manufacturing processes in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all manufacturing and operational functions.
• Implement continuous improvement programs targeting safety, product quality, efficiency, and cost control.
• Oversee production, maintenance, warehouse, planning, and supporting operational departments.
• Develop operational leaders and promote a culture emphasizing accountability and ongoing improvement.
• Define operational key performance indicators and leverage data analytics to guide business decisions.
• Collaborate across departments including Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to ensure cohesive operations.
• Enhance manufacturing workflows, optimize labor and inventory practices, and coordinate production scheduling.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and safety standards, including food safety and OSHA compliance.
• Direct capital improvement projects and support facility expansions and scalability efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably within food, beverage, CPG, or other regulated sectors.
• Proven ability to manage multiple functional areas within manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated record of enhancing productivity, quality, safety, and overall operational effectiveness.
• Strong financial skills with experience in budget management, KPIs, and operational metrics.
• Track record of developing talent and leading high-performing teams.
• Expertise with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and change management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or advanced technical degree is advantageous.
• Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean are preferred.
• Experience managing multi-site manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards including FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC, HACCP, GMP.
• Experience with ERP system implementations or optimizing manufacturing systems.
