About the Role
A prominent healthcare organisation is seeking a seasoned Head of Human Resources to lead and oversee its HR function. This position requires providing both strategic guidance and hands-on leadership across the organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, the individual will influence people strategies, workforce planning, employee relations, organisational development, and uphold HR governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the HR department and team, fostering development and performance.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Executive Team on all human resource-related matters.
- Spearhead workforce planning, recruitment efforts, succession strategies, and initiatives to boost employee engagement.
- Ensure adherence to employment legislation, public sector agreements, and recognised HR best practices.
- Oversee employee relations and industrial relations, including engagement with trade unions and external organizations.
- Manage performance appraisal systems, absence tracking, learning and development activities, payroll governance, and pension administration.
- Formulate and implement HR policies, procedures, and programmes aimed at organisational development.
- Champion organisational change projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
- A minimum of five years in a senior HR leadership role.
- At least three years’ experience in a senior management position.
- Proven track record of leading and enhancing HR operations effectively.
- Strong leadership capabilities in managing and motivating HR teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
- Superior communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
- Strong report preparation, presentation skills, and analytical competencies.
- Experience with drafting contracts, policies, organisational reports, and communication for senior leaders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
Desirable Attributes
- Postgraduate qualification focused on Employment Law or a related area.
- Experience operating within healthcare, hospital, or broader public sector contexts.
