Position Summary
The role of Head of Management & Training involves collaborating with the Head of Operations to develop, execute, and sustain the group’s training and personnel management initiatives. This includes managing disciplinary protocols, communication strategies, performance analytics, and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Align training and management efforts with Alistair’s operational goals and corporate values.
- Regularly analyze training demands to maintain a minimum 10% staff buffer across fleets.
- Ensure consistent adherence to Alistair’s training directives and operational standards.
- Oversee and mentor managers and trainers, guaranteeing compliance with established processes.
- Appraise and update instructional materials as needed to suit all training programs.
- Initiate, approve, and implement new training and management methodologies, tracking performance through KPIs.
- Deliver training sessions professionally, timely, and in accordance with global best practices.
- Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation within appropriate tracking systems.
- Conduct monthly performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Lead disciplinary management and conduct necessary performance reviews.
- Guarantee compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Manage communications with external parties and internal stakeholders regarding company interests and compliance.
- Contribute innovative strategies to enhance training and management efficacy.
- Champion Alistair’s commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards.
- Report incidents such as accidents, thefts, fines, or equipment breakdowns for proper legal and managerial follow-up.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Finance, Economics, or Business Management.
- Advanced qualifications such as Honours or Master's degrees preferred; an MBA is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in training and management roles.
- Proficiency in operating articulated vehicles like HOWO SINO with splitter gearboxes, and experience handling Traixles, Pup, and Super-link trailers.
- Certification as a Trainer and Train the Trainer, including Dangerous Goods handling certification.
- Familiarity with transport management software solutions.
- Must be a citizen of Zambia.
