Job description
About Airbnb
Airbnb began in 2007, when two hosts opened their San Francisco home to three guests. Since then, the platform has expanded to a global community of more than 5 million hosts and over 2 billion guest arrivals across nearly every country, helping people experience communities and travel in a more authentic way.
The Team
The Homes Supply organization is focused on expanding Airbnb’s supply base while maintaining a broad, high-quality portfolio of home listings that deliver on guest expectations for value, variety, and experience. The team also supports hosts around the world by helping them plan and execute growth strategies that align with Airbnb’s mission and work well for local communities.
Role Impact
As Head of Homes Supply for Canada, you will lead the growth and performance of the Homes business across the country. You will manage a team of Market Managers, build strategies that increase high-quality supply, improve host success across segments, and elevate the guest experience. Working closely with the Country Manager, you will turn country strategy into measurable outcomes and partner across functions to deliver strong value for guests and hosts in every market.
What You Will Do
- Guide and motivate Market Managers and Market Associates to grow Airbnb Homes supply across Canada, deepen host partnerships, and improve business and guest outcomes.
- Work with the Country Manager to execute national strategic plans and keep local market execution aligned with broader priorities.
- Build and run acquisition strategies that bring in new, high-quality supply through programs, pilots, and local initiatives aimed at untapped segments and regions.
- Test new approaches to uncover additional supply sources, evaluate performance quickly, and convert successful ideas into repeatable playbooks.
- Shape territory-level plans for acquisition, optimization, and host quality based on market maturity and host segments.
- Collaborate with Supply Leadership, Marketing, RevOps, Policy, and Product teams to launch initiatives that improve host performance and accelerate supply growth.
- Track business performance and take ownership of revenue, supply, and quality KPIs to ensure durable results.
- Spot market movements and growth opportunities, then recommend solutions that address barriers and respond to demand shifts or regulatory changes.
- Coach team members, strengthen leadership capability, and foster a culture centered on experimentation, accountability, and ongoing development.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a seasoned leader with deep experience in global operations, business development, or marketplace management, along with substantial people-management experience. The right candidate brings strong knowledge of Canada’s travel and hospitality environment, a blend of operational and commercial capability, and the ability to grow supply through multiple channels. Success in this role requires a decisive, empathetic leader who can build high-performing teams, influence cross-functional partners, use data to inform strategy, and manage several initiatives at once. Experience growing supply and partnering with community and host groups is especially valuable.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in global operations, business development, or marketplace management.
- Five or more years of people leadership experience, including scaling and managing teams.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian travel and hospitality landscape and local growth dynamics.
- Capability to acquire supply through multiple channels using both operational and commercial approaches.
- Analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to use data and insights to shape portfolio strategy and uncover opportunities.
- Ability to influence product, policy, and cross-functional stakeholders to unlock revenue and improve performance.
- Comfort using tools, dashboards, and analytics to measure progress, identify trends, and drive accountability.
- Proven track record of achieving results through others, including performance management and leader development.
- Ability to create an inclusive, collaborative, transparent, and high-energy team culture.
- Strong coaching skills with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
- Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities and programs simultaneously.
- Experience building supply and partnerships with community and host groups is highly valued.
