Role overview
A major Irish business group is hiring a senior Head of Group Financial Planning & Analysis in West Dublin. The role is responsible for steering group-wide budgeting, forecasting and commercial insight, while serving as a trusted partner to the Finance Director, the Executive Team and senior operational leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Run the annual group budgeting cycle across profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet for both group and divisional levels.
- Take ownership of the quarterly and rolling forecast process, ensuring the approach stays consistent across all business units.
- Create and maintain flexible financial models to support scenario planning and future-looking decisions.
- Build the group’s five-year plan and present progress updates to the Board.
- Assist with reviews completed after acquisitions.
- Prepare the monthly group management information packs for the Senior Leadership Team, including clear commentary and explanations of key performance drivers.
- Provide variance analysis and highlight the commercial impact of performance differences.
- Design and monitor KPIs linked to value creation, margin growth and cash generation.
- Lead investment appraisals, business cases and other ad hoc commercial analysis.
- Work closely with operational leaders on capital allocation and trading decisions.
- Provide guidance, oversight and quality assurance across the FP&A and commercial analysis team.
- Set team objectives and priorities, while supporting capability development and succession planning.
- Promote ongoing improvements in FP&A processes, systems and reporting efficiency.
Candidate profile
- Fully qualified accountant status through ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
- Extensive senior-level finance experience with a strong background in FP&A, commercial analysis and group reporting.
- Comfortable moving between hands-on delivery and strategic advisory responsibilities.
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex matters in a clear way.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating the output of other team members.
- Strong stakeholder management ability in a multi-business environment.
Compensation and working model
The salary for this position is €120,000, along with a strong benefits package that includes a €12,000 car allowance and a 35% bonus. Hybrid working is available, although the role is based in West Dublin.
