About the Role

As a vital member of Spotify's Global Government Affairs team, you will operate at the crossroads of policy, technology, and creative industries. This role involves collaborating with governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to foster a digital environment that is fair, innovative, and inclusive.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Spotify’s government affairs strategy throughout Australia and New Zealand, cultivating trusted relationships with policymakers and key stakeholders.
• Act as Spotify’s representative in discussions and meetings with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry groups within both regions.
• Influence and contribute to the formation of public policies affecting the digital, media, and creative sectors.
• Deliver strategic analysis and advice to senior leadership regarding political, legislative, and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Communications, Music, and other business teams to ensure aligned objectives and consistent messaging.
• Continuously track policy developments to anticipate risks and seize opportunities benefiting Spotify, creators, and users.
• Create advocacy plans aligned with Spotify’s mission to support a sustainable and inclusive creative economy.
• Maintain active, face-to-face engagement by frequently travelling between Sydney and Canberra.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive expertise in government affairs, public policy, or related sectors within Australia and New Zealand.
• Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships with government and regulatory stakeholders.
• Thorough knowledge of the ANZ political landscape and legislative procedures.
• Skillful at translating complex policy matters into concise and actionable insights.
• Experience advising senior executives and participating in strategic decision-making.
• Passion for fostering equitable, diverse, and future-focused environments for creators, platforms, and consumers.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to represent organizations with integrity and authenticity externally.
• Competent in managing diverse priorities effectively in a dynamic setting while exercising sound judgment.

Location

This position is based in either Sydney or Canberra, Australia.
