Position Overview
This role merges global media relations, digital engagement, corporate social media management, and crafting international narratives. The incumbent will determine Audi's representation in worldwide conversations across varied media, platforms, markets, and interested parties. Reporting to the VP of Global Communications & Corporate Affairs, collaboration with senior executives, regional communication teams, product and executive communications, and public affairs will ensure Audi maintains its stature as a progressive premium global brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead Audi's global media relations strategy covering principal worldwide markets.
- Foster and sustain robust relationships with key international journalists, editors, broadcasters, and influencers.
- Proactively position Audi in leading global outlets and influence important public debates.
- Recognize media opportunities and reputational risks on a global scale early, acting swiftly.
- Orchestrate consistent global narratives across markets and platforms to reinforce Audi's positioning amid industry shifts.
- Lead global crisis and issue communication responses under demanding circumstances.
- Advise executive leadership on reputation management, media insights, and strategic positioning.
- Direct the enhancement of Audi's digital corporate communication framework.
- Oversee corporate social media direction, governance policies, and development of digital platforms.
- Amplify Audi’s digital storytelling impact, relevance, and alignment globally.
- Implement innovative, data-driven, and audience-centered approaches to digital engagement.
- Head and mentor a high-achieving international team.
- Forge strong cross-market, business unit, and Volkswagen Group partnerships.
- Serve as a trusted strategic counsellor to senior leaders and principal stakeholders worldwide.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Communications or Journalism.
- Proven extensive international leadership experience in global communications, media relations, journalism, or reputation management.
- Established network with globally significant top-tier media contacts.
- Demonstrated competence in shaping narratives and positioning entities or leaders in complex global contexts.
- In-depth knowledge of the contemporary media landscape, digital ecosystems, and platform dynamics.
- Exceptional strategic decision-making combined with operational excellence and agility.
- Experience handling crisis situations, geopolitical issues, transformational initiatives, and high-pressure conditions.
- Strong leadership capabilities within complex, matrix-driven international organizations.
- Executive presence and confidence with robust advisory skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity, resilience, and high personal credibility.
- Fluency in English and German; additional languages considered advantageous.
- Position is based at Audi's headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany, providing a unique strategic platform within a renowned global premium brand.
