About the Role
EG Group is seeking a Head of Finance to lead and provide strategic oversight of our finance operations across Europe. Positioned as an integral part of the European Leadership Team, you will ensure impeccable financial stewardship, enforce governance and risk management, and maintain compliance across several European countries.
As a key advisor to senior leadership and the US parent company, you will help drive financial discipline, support strategic business choices, and contribute to enhancing the organisation’s long-term performance.
This leadership role involves managing a European country finance function, promoting strong financial controls, standardized governance frameworks, and delivering insightful financial analytics to foster operational consistency and excellence across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and manage the European finance division to align activities with both regional and group-wide strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with leadership stakeholders to aid in business performance evaluation, capital investment considerations, organizational changes, and strategic planning.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, performance analyses, and executive-level insights.
- Maintain and monitor comprehensive financial controls, governance systems, and compliance with local statutory, tax, regulatory, and group reporting standards in multiple European jurisdictions.
- Lead external audit processes and nurture productive relationships with auditors, banking institutions, consultants, and essential external partners.
- Manage financial risks, including treasury functions, liquidity, working capital, and currency exposure across the European business units.
- Champion finance process improvements and transformation initiatives while overseeing full-cycle finance operations.
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team characterized by accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accounting professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or similar) with extensive senior management experience in finance within large multinational corporations.
- Experience leading diverse finance teams managing multiple countries, legal entities, and currency transactions.
- Advanced expertise in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, governance, treasury operations, and taxation.
- Proven ability to function effectively in complex, highly regulated settings, ideally within US-owned or matrixed international organizations.
- Strong familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory financial reporting obligations.
- Successful history of driving finance transformation projects, process optimization, and facilitating organizational change.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with the capacity to influence executive and board-level decision-makers.
- Commercially astute and strategic thinker capable of translating complex financial data into actionable business insights.
