Head of Finance - Events

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Finance or Finance Director for an 8-month fixed-term maternity cover contract in the UAE, starting from mid-September 2026 to mid-May 2027. This leadership role requires a hands-on finance professional comfortable managing diverse finance operations across multiple entities while maintaining strong governance and statutory compliance.

Team Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to CEO and COO
• Leads a finance team composed of Senior Finance Executive and Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily finance functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, purchasing, expense control, reconciliations, approvals, and cash flow management
• Prepare precise monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis and compile financial reports for senior leadership review
• Develop comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and financial models to aid strategic decision-making
• Oversee treasury functions, maintain banking relationships, and manage liquidity
• Ensure adherence to UAE tax laws and fulfil statutory reporting obligations
• Lead the external audit process and handle all related regulatory submissions
• Enhance internal controls and continuously refine finance systems and processes
• Collaborate with HR, IT, Legal, and other departments to support overall business objectives
• Lead and mentor the finance team to foster high performance

Essential Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in finance with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing finance functions
• Proven expertise handling multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction financial operations
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance
• Thorough knowledge of UAE taxation and accounting regulations
• Strong leadership, analytical ability, and organisational skills
• Adept at balancing strategic vision with practical operational execution

Additional Details

• Contract duration: 8 months maternity cover
• Location: Dubai, UAE (onsite)
• Monthly salary range: AED 40,000 to AED 45,000
