Overview
An established infrastructure services firm is launching a new division specializing in power and renewables within Ireland. They seek an experienced senior leader to develop this segment from inception, reporting directly to the CEO with comprehensive profit and loss responsibility.
Role Objectives
- Devise and implement the market entry approach including target sectors, offerings, and launch strategy.
- Set up all operational aspects including hiring executives, managing day-to-day operations, and building field teams.
- Manage full P&L oversight covering revenues, margins, working capital and EBITDA.
- Lead sales and business development through tenders, client engagement, and representing the company at senior levels.
- Target is to achieve Tier One status in the Irish power market within 12 months.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years in general management roles related to power service delivery, grid systems, connections, or renewable sectors.
- Proven success in scaling organizations to meet growth objectives.
- Experience collaborating with ESB Networks from initial stages through to project completion.
- Strong financial expertise managing budgets, P&L, and detailed reporting.
- Executive presence capable of inspiring teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Technical background in grid infrastructure, high voltage substations, solar, offshore wind, or data center power is highly desirable.
- An extensive network within the Irish energy industry is a major plus.
Market Context
Ireland is currently experiencing significant developments in energy including major investments in transmission by EirGrid and ESB Networks, a substantial offshore wind program, growing commercial and utility-scale solar driven by corporate PPAs, expanding data center power needs, national electric vehicle charging infrastructure rollout, and upgrades in high-voltage substations.
