About the Role

Auxato is looking to appoint a Head of Ecommerce on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London, requiring attendance onsite three days per week. This leadership position is critical for an ambitious FMCG company undergoing significant growth in its digital and eCommerce capabilities. The role commands ownership of the eCommerce strategy for multiple well-known household brands, focusing on expanding a recently launched proposition alongside social commerce initiatives.

This position demands flexibility and resilience due to the company's rapid evolution. The successful candidate will navigate fluctuating priorities—from deep dives into performance marketing data and retail media partnerships to mentoring staff—thriving in an environment of ambiguity and continuous adjustment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape the multichannel eCommerce strategy across the UK in collaboration with marketing, sales, and international teams, creating annual plans and monitoring performance and growth prospects.
  • Drive digital expansion within omnichannel grocery retail through cooperation with shopper marketing and key account teams to enhance essential metrics.
  • Oversee and optimize social and retail media budgets to ensure effective and trackable expenditure across performance channels.
  • Manage and scale a new DTC platform including CRM and operations, handling merchandising, promotional campaigns, subscriptions, and integrating learnings back into the wider organization.
  • Promote digital transformation via social media and innovative technologies such as generative AI, fostering engaged communities and stimulating both eCommerce and physical sales.
  • Serve as a catalyst for change within the company, embracing evolving business needs.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Current experience in marketing or eCommerce, preferably with a background in commercial, sales, or key account functions, maintaining a strong commercial and P&L focus.
  • Practical knowledge of DTC models and CRM systems; experience with subscription services or challenger brand development is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, comfortably engaging in detailed CRM system development while also presenting strategy to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven or potential capability to coach and develop high-performing team members.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset suited to startup or high-growth environments—low ego, high output, and willing to challenge norms.
  • Strong adaptability and resilience, embracing the dynamic nature of the role and organizational growth.

Additional Information

  • Contract length: 12 months fixed term
  • Salary range: £70,000 to £80,000 per year
  • Location: London, onsite 3 days per week
  • Immediate start available
