Position Overview
The Hervey Bay Positive Learning Centre is actively seeking a skilled Head of Department for Student Services to oversee and guide the Centre's student wellbeing, inclusion, engagement, and support frameworks. Positioned within Yarrilee State School grounds, this role focuses on strategic influence and leadership designed to elevate student support and success.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at boosting student outcomes via innovative, evidence-informed methods to enhance achievement, attendance, engagement, and equity, particularly assisting disadvantaged youth.
- Enhance student support mechanisms by tracking academic performance, attendance, and wellbeing, orchestrating specific targeted interventions, and facilitating smooth academic, social, and emotional transitions for new student arrivals.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with parents, educational leaders, teaching staff, tertiary education providers, community bodies, businesses, and external agencies to boost student participation and success.
- Support school leadership efficacy through comprehensive data analysis, reporting, creation of practical resources, and contributing to informed decision processes and continual institutional improvement.
- Champion inclusivity and sound governance by embedding equitable practices, ensuring policy and legislative compliance, and assisting with efficient management of institutional resources aligned with strategic objectives.
