Role Overview
This leadership position is responsible for steering channel and category growth initiatives that increase revenue, profitability, and market reach while staying aligned with company goals, market conditions, and operational capacity.
What You Will Do
- Create and execute channel and category plans that support sales, revenue, margin, and market share goals across HoReCa segments.
- Lead Category Managers and Business Development Managers so their work remains aligned with commercial priorities and wider business objectives.
- Improve category performance by optimizing the product portfolio, planning assortment, and identifying new growth opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and major customers to improve business results and market position.
- Design and apply pricing approaches that protect profitability while staying competitive in the market.
- Partner with the Sales team to deliver category plans, customer expansion initiatives, and sales targets effectively.
- Track category and channel performance by reviewing sales, margins, customer demand, and market trends, then turn insights into growth actions.
- Lead product launches, portfolio expansion, and category development initiatives that contribute to revenue growth.
- Work with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to secure availability, manage inventory efficiently, and support smooth commercial execution.
- Set, monitor, and report on category and channel KPIs, and prepare business reviews and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
Strategy, Planning, and Leadership
- Contribute to the Division’s ABCs and OKRs and ensure alignment with other function leaders.
- Make key decisions that shape the division’s strategic and operational direction.
- Develop plans for the team or function that support the division’s goals and objectives.
- Delegate operational responsibilities to emerging leaders to strengthen succession planning.
- Measure progress against OKRs and performance metrics and take corrective action when needed.
People Management
- Set clear performance goals, provide support, review outcomes regularly, and give feedback that helps team members grow.
- Participate in hiring and identifying key talent for the function.
- Give direction, prioritize work, assign responsibilities, and oversee team workflow.
- Create opportunities for team members to contribute to improvement, innovation, and knowledge-sharing.
Budget and Financial Management
- Own the budgeting cycle and contribute actively to budget planning.
- Manage the department within budget and provide accurate updates on progress and challenges.
- Build strategies that deliver positive financial outcomes while reducing commercial and operational risk.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and operating standards to ensure controlled daily execution.
- Identify and support process improvements that raise operational effectiveness.
- Help build a high-performance culture and promote the company’s values.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a closely related subject is required.
- A master’s degree in Business Administration or a similar field is preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in category management, channel development, or commercial leadership, ideally in FMCG, food service, or HoReCa.
