Role Overview
We are searching for a results-oriented and commercially savvy Head of Business to guide the strategic expansion of our UK subsidiary and reinforce our standing within the UK space sector ecosystem. This leadership position offers an opportunity to formulate and implement growth strategies, cultivate valuable partnerships across both institutional and commercial space markets, and elevate Indra as a trusted collaborator among customers and stakeholders.
The Head of Business will lead UK operations, serve as the main liaison for UK employees, and ensure UK initiatives are well-aligned with the broader Space Systems business goals. Combining strategic foresight with active business development, the role influences growth across comprehensive space missions, satellite avionics, ground segment facilities, and space safety offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the UK business growth plan aligned with both Indra Space Systems and Indra UK objectives.
- Scout for and develop new business prospects within institutional and commercial space domains.
- Forge strong relationships with customers, government entities, industry partners, and crucial stakeholders to boost market presence and secure future contracts.
- Support the creation of capture strategies, bid submissions, and proposals, contributing market intelligence and client insights.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships that enhance Indra's presence and capabilities within the UK space ecosystem.
- Represent Indra Space Systems at relevant conferences, events, and stakeholder meetings to promote expertise and showcase value.
- Provide senior leadership for UK Space Systems teams and operations, acting as the primary UK representative.
- Collaborate with corporate departments including Finance, HR, Legal, and Quality to ensure efficient UK operations.
- Drive sustainable growth and scalability of the UK business by exploring opportunities to enlarge our footprint and influence.
Candidate Profile and Experience
- Commercially driven professional passionate about advancing growth and nurturing strategic partnerships within the space industry.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, developing, and advancing new business in complex and evolving markets.
- Deep understanding of the space sector, capable of translating technological capabilities into appealing customer solutions.
- Proven leadership and relationship-building skills, comfortable engaging diverse stakeholders including government officials and industry leaders.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, adept at influencing technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Collaborative mindset with a proven history of cross-functional and multicultural teamwork.
- Strategic thinker focused on achieving sustainable business outcomes.
- Highly autonomous and accountable, thriving in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Over 10 years' experience working in the space sector.
- Strong knowledge of the UK and European space ecosystem, including understanding of institutional clients, prime contractors, SMEs, and funding landscape.
- Sound expertise in space systems, specifically satellite platforms and avionics, ground segment operations, space safety and sustainability, or satellite communications architecture.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish considered advantageous.
