Head of Banking Product Portfolio

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to serve as the Head of Banking Product Portfolio at SAP Fioneer, responsible for overseeing and shaping the global portfolio of banking products. This includes Core Banking, Payments, Digital Banking, and cutting-edge technologies such as AI and Digital Currencies.

This senior role extends well beyond traditional product management; it encompasses defining the portfolio vision, steering product strategy and investment choices, optimizing business value, and ensuring commercial success across all banking-related profit centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the global banking product portfolio strategy, aligned with corporate growth ambitions and market demands.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive long-term vision, strategic roadmap, and prioritization for investments across core banking solutions.
• Identify new market opportunities, explore product adjacencies, acquisitions, partnerships, and drive innovation to fuel business expansion.
• Maintain portfolio competitiveness through ongoing industry trend analysis and competitor benchmarking.
• Oversee product strategies for Core Banking, Cash Management, Payments, and Digital Banking products.
• Manage portfolio lifecycle including investment evaluations, business case development, pricing, and profitability optimization.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators like revenue growth, customer adoption, profitability, satisfaction, and market share.
• Lead initiatives towards product standardization, scalability, and cloud transformation.
• Conduct executive-level strategy sessions with customers, partners, regulators, and industry leaders.
• Serve as a trusted consultant to C-suite banking executives on topics including modernization, digital transformation, AI integration, and core banking strategies.
• Collaborate closely with sales, central solutions, and go-to-market teams to accelerate pipeline development and revenue generation.
• Support large-scale strategic projects by clearly communicating product vision and competitive advantages.
• Expand portfolio via upselling, cross-selling, and market entry strategies.
• Contribute to annual planning processes, including revenue forecasting and investment planning.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global product management and engineering team.
• Cultivate a culture emphasizing customer focus, innovation, accountability, and ownership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of leadership experience within banking technology, financial services software, core banking, payments, or fintech sectors.
• Demonstrated success managing and growing large enterprise banking product portfolios.
• Experience with products carrying significant revenue and profit & loss accountability.
• In-depth knowledge of global banking institutions and regulatory environments.
• Strong insight into banking transformation programs and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to interpret market trends into actionable product strategies and commercial outcomes.
• Solid business acumen, including portfolio investment management and profit optimization.
• Track record of executing growth strategies in international markets.
• Adept at balancing customer needs with scalable product innovations.
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
• Capacity to inspire and effectively align diverse, global cross-functional teams.
