Job description

Position Overview

Our client, a regional financial services group based in London, is advancing its AI journey beyond pilots and reorganizing its operating model to capitalize on AI. The leadership recognizes that the true challenge lies not in technology but in managing change among executives, technologists, and employees concerned about job security. This role requires a trusted connector who can align all stakeholders during this pivotal transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and steward the group-wide AI transformation roadmap, defining which functions evolve and the sequencing rationale.
  • Convert strategic ambitions from the board into thoroughly financed and prioritized programs with realistic business cases.
  • Lead the redesign of roles and responsibilities as AI automates task work, determining what employees cease, commence, and require training on.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to manage workforce transition through reskilling initiatives, redeployment strategies, and difficult personnel decisions.
  • Establish AI governance frameworks that comply with Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) expectations without hindering innovation and adoption.
  • Drive change management efforts, ensuring managers effectively utilize AI tools, teams trust the transformation process, and measure adoption outcomes.
  • Provide transparent and outcome-focused progress reports to executive leadership and the board, emphasizing business impact rather than technical metrics.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in transformation, operations, or technology leadership roles, including at least one end-to-end delivery of AI or significant digital transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary AI technologies including large language models, intelligent agents, and automation platforms at a decision-making level.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex organizational change, overcoming resistance, and guiding workforce shifts with empathy.
  • Experience working within regulated sectors, preferably in financial services.
  • Capacity to engage confidently with senior executives while providing reassurance and motivation to concerned teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A belief that successful AI transformation is predominantly about people (approximately 80%) rather than just technology.
  • Desire for a role with genuine authority, board support, and significant budget, as opposed to symbolic positions.
  • Ability to balance recognition of AI’s disruptive power with sincere commitment to employee welfare.

Additional Details

The role is based in London with hybrid working options and reports directly to the Group COO.
