About the Role

Join Gallagher's team as the Hardware Engineering Lead, spearheading technology that revolutionizes livestock farming. In this position, you will oversee a skilled team developing the next generation of eShepherd hardware — a groundbreaking virtual fencing system used worldwide to enhance farmer productivity, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability.

You will guide your team from initial concept through to field deployment, shaping the technology roadmap, influencing product strategy, and ensuring delivery of reliable, scalable products capable of performing in challenging agricultural conditions.

Your collaboration spans cross-functional teams — including Product, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing, and Customer Support — translating real user feedback into practical engineering advancements. As a leader, you will mentor engineers, foster engineering excellence, and build an environment where innovative ideas become globally impactful products.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineering leader experienced in managing teams working on sophisticated hardware or IoT devices. You possess a strong background in product development lifecycle from concept to production, excellent interpersonal abilities for cross-discipline collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

You are passionate about coaching engineers and cultivating high-performing teams while demonstrating sound technical judgment and commercial savvy.

Requirements

• A qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams responsible for complex hardware or IoT product development.
• Expertise in bringing products from concept stage through to manufacturing and deployment.
• Capacity to influence and work effectively within multidisciplinary groups.
• An enthusiasm for mentoring and developing engineering talent.
• Strong technical decision-making skills coupled with commercial awareness and a mindset geared towards continuous progress.
