Job description

Role Overview

WPRS invites applications for an experienced and dedicated Hand Therapist to join their team at the new Ballarat location. This full-time role offers the chance to deliver specialised upper limb rehabilitation within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with upper limb injuries and conditions, creating tailored treatment plans aimed at restoring function and supporting recovery.
  • Administer hands-on therapeutic techniques including splint fabrication, manual therapy, and exercise programs.
  • Collaborate closely with Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in a multidisciplinary clinical setting to provide integrated, coordinated care.
  • Work alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and surgical teams to ensure holistic patient management and optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients on effective self-management strategies to empower their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with legal and professional standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based hand therapy practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy with demonstrated interest and experience in hand therapy.
  • Hold professional registration with AHPRA and have at least 2 years of experience in hand therapy or upper limb rehabilitation.
  • Exhibit strong clinical assessment skills and deep knowledge of upper limb anatomy and related pathologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively liaise with patients, families, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Show commitment to delivering patient-centred care along with enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional growth.
