Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse, either adult or paediatric registered, to join our dedicated Teenage Cancer Trust Unit. This role focuses on delivering specialized care to young patients aged between 13 and 19 years, dealing with a variety of haematology and oncology conditions.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide care for young people affected by solid tumours and haematological cancers, including administering treatments such as bone marrow transplants, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. The role emphasizes compassionate support, addressing both medical and emotional needs during a challenging time for patients.
About the Unit and Institution
The Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) is the largest inpatient adolescent cancer facility in Europe and holds international acclaim. Established in 1990 as the UK's first teenage cancer unit, it provides world-class cancer care in age-appropriate, state-of-the-art facilities. The unit works closely with the Teenage Cancer Trust to ensure holistic care focusing on the young person beyond their illness.
