Ibis Adelaide entrusts their Guest Service Agents as the essential first point of contact at the hotel reception, ensuring every visitor feels warmly welcomed and enjoys a memorable stay from the outset.
Role Overview
As a Guest Service Agent, you will serve as the primary contact for guests upon arrival. Your duties will include checking guests in and out, responding to inquiries from current guests, and assisting with reservation bookings after hours. You will help maintain the vibrancy of Adelaide's busiest hotel through excellent service, be knowledgeable about local attractions to enrich guest experiences, and stay alert for moments to surprise and delight visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests cordially and provide ongoing assistance to the reception team.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences with a friendly and approachable demeanor that embodies brand values.
- Facilitate guest check-in and check-out procedures and offer helpful information throughout their stay.
- Respond quickly to guest issues, take responsibility for resolutions, and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure satisfaction.
- Manage internal communications via switchboard connecting hotel operational teams such as Food & Beverage and Maintenance.
- Handle reservation bookings during off-hours.
- Maintain a professional telephone manner when attending to guest calls.
- Think proactively to anticipate guest needs and provide timely assistance.
- Effectively multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
- Quickly address and resolve problems on the spot.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience as a Guest Service Agent or hotel receptionist is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service is essential.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and non-verbal abilities.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in reservation environments is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Opera Cloud, TARS Database, or similar Property Management Systems preferred.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in Australia.
