Job description
About Drawboard
Drawboard develops innovative software that replaces traditional paper workflows for professionals like engineers, architects, and students. Their leading product, Drawboard PDF, serves millions for document markup and collaboration across multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, iOS, and web. Another offering, Drawboard Projects, supports drawing reviews and teamwork in architecture, engineering, and construction sectors, with clientele such as Toyota and premier design firms. The company is a 30-person team headquartered in Melbourne, competing with major players like Adobe and Bluebeam by delivering superior product experiences.
Role Overview
The Growth Product Manager will spearhead the commercial aspects of Drawboard PDF, focusing on user discovery, conversion, activation, and retention. Unlike other product managers who focus on product development, this role is responsible for driving product success through optimizing user funnels, onboarding processes, pricing strategy, and communication at key upgrade moments. Additionally, this position oversees the customer support team, providing insights from support tickets to influence product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full conversion funnel from initial visit through trial and payment.
- Improve onboarding to ensure fast, effective first-time user experiences with continuous measurement and iteration.
- Lead product analytics efforts, defining funnel metrics and growth dashboards with support from data analysts.
- Collaborate with marketing on lifecycle communications including emails and in-app prompts.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback from support tickets, reviews, and surveys to guide product priorities.
- Oversee and develop the offshore customer support team, ensuring quality, coaching, and inclusion.
- Own support operations including tools such as Zendesk, escalation paths, service level agreements, and daily stand-ups.
- Directly handle complex support escalations when necessary.
- Build strong feedback loops between support insights and product roadmap decisions.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years in product management, growth roles, or related areas with real product experience, focusing on conversion, activation, or retention improvements.
- Proven success in impacting key customer journey metrics with clear examples.
- Strong analytical skills and fluency with product analytics platforms; experience with Amplitude is highly valued.
- Experience managing or coordinating teams, including offshore or contractors.
- Empathy towards customers and willingness to engage hands-on with customer support tasks initially.
- Excellent written communication skills for various audiences.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving, small company environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in self-serve or product-led growth in SaaS or consumer software.
- Familiarity with subscription management tools (e.g., Chargebee), Zendesk, and app store platforms.
- Experience conducting A/B testing and pricing experiments.
- Exposure to architecture, engineering, & construction industries or collaborative document tools.
Additional Information
- Location is Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements including regular office presence.
- Salary ranges from AUD 80,000 to 130,000 annually plus superannuation, dependent on experience.
- Reports directly to the CEO and closely collaborates with the CTO and product teams.
- Immediate start upon finding the right candidate.
- First 90 days include direct involvement in support ticket handling for product and customer insight immersion.
