Group CEO – Consumer & Retail

This executive role is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for the consumer and retail segments of the organization. The primary objective is to ensure robust growth and maintain market leadership within these dynamic sectors. The position demands a profound understanding of current consumer trends, retail operational dynamics, and the ability to drive efficiency. The Group CEO will be instrumental in formulating and implementing comprehensive business strategies that enhance performance across various regions and product lines, while simultaneously cultivating an innovative corporate culture. A key aspect of this role involves utilizing data analytics and market research to inform decision-making and elevate customer experiences. Furthermore, the Group CEO will manage crucial stakeholder relationships, aligning the interests of investors, board members, and executive management to foster an environment of trust and collective achievement.

Job Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the consumer and retail divisions, ensuring it aligns with the overarching mission and vision of the company.
  • Drive organizational performance by establishing ambitious targets encompassing financial, operational, and customer-focused metrics.
  • Lead the executive and senior management teams in cultivating an environment that encourages innovation, calculated risk-taking, and the development of novel processes and ideas.
  • Oversee operational structures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in production, supply chain, and retail operations, aiming to reduce costs while optimizing quality and service delivery.
  • Promote a customer-centric ethos by leveraging data analytics to understand consumer behavior and preferences, thereby ensuring the organization's competitive edge and relevance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, investors, external partners, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment on strategic priorities.
  • Provide guidance to the board of directors on effective corporate governance practices and ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.

Job Requirements
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in senior leadership positions within the consumer and retail industries, with a proven history of success.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading extensive teams within diverse and fast-paced settings, requiring strong emotional intelligence and effective change management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of global consumer behavior patterns and the capacity to foresee market shifts, translating these insights into practical strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing substantial budgets, financial forecasting, and profit and loss responsibility.
  • Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities, with a history of engaging and influencing senior executives and board members.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation and e-commerce landscapes, coupled with a proven ability to drive organizational innovation.
  • A track record of establishing and implementing corporate governance frameworks and compliance measures that uphold ethical standards.
  • Experience in crisis management and risk assessment within volatile retail environments, with demonstrated strategies for building resilience and adaptability.
  • Advanced academic credentials in business administration, management, or a related discipline; an MBA is highly desirable.
