Overview
A sustainability-focused organization in New York is hiring an entry-level Graduate Sustainability Consultant to support environmental advisory work for corporate clients, property developers, and municipal bodies. The position is designed for a motivated graduate who wants to build a career in decarbonization, resource efficiency, and environmental compliance.
This opportunity includes a structured development path, with mentoring intended to help the right candidate grow into an independent specialist within 18 months.
Responsibilities
- Support greenhouse gas accounting by collecting, checking, and organizing Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions data using sustainability software.
- Work with engineering and architectural teams to review building-related data and support certification and compliance goals such as LEED, WELL, and local energy standards.
- Create and maintain analytical models that track how clients use water, energy, and materials, with attention to waste reduction and resource efficiency.
- Carry out research and compare peer organizations to help identify and rank ESG-related risks and priorities for clients.
Requirements
- A recently completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Infrastructure, Engineering, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Strong comfort working with spreadsheets, datasets, and quantitative analysis.
- Ability to interpret technical environmental information and explain it clearly to business audiences without a technical background.
- An analytical, proactive mindset suited to problem-solving in sustainability and advisory work.
