Job description

About Deloitte and the Opportunity

Starting your career with Deloitte means joining a global community of exceptional professionals committed to making impactful contributions. With extensive support, an inclusive culture, and advanced technologies, you will have opportunities to realize your full potential. Our graduate roles serve as an ideal bridge into the professional world, allowing recent graduates to gain practical experience and guidance from top performers across diverse sectors.

Deloitte emphasizes innovation, including the integration and ethical use of artificial intelligence, which is reshaping organizational operations. Joining us equips you with future-ready skills and the chance to influence how technology generates meaningful benefits.

Program Structure

Graduates embark on a week-long induction introducing them to our business, pairing them with buddies and coaches to support integration and connections within a large cohort. From day one, you are treated as a valued team member rather than a mere participant in a training program. Engagement events occur between application and start date in February, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition into the Deloitte family.

Professional Development

If you aim to gain a professional qualification, Deloitte fully supports you through paid study leave, subsidized courses, and mentorship from senior colleagues. Additionally, multiple learning and development opportunities exist beyond formal qualifications to help you advance in your career.

Role Overview

As a Business Advisory Analyst, you will collaborate with an experienced team advising small to medium enterprises. Your responsibilities include assisting business owners to address challenges through technical accounting advice, virtual CFO services, financial statement preparation, tax returns, consulting, and management accounting.

The Business Advisory group consists of over 500 finance professionals nationwide, guided by expert partners. Together, they serve a wide client base to resolve financial issues, optimize processes, interpret data, and help private businesses and families meet financial goals. Close collaboration with the Tax team and other Deloitte divisions ensures comprehensive client support.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with clients to tackle complex problems and offer insightful solutions.
  • Prepare management reports, financial statements, and tax returns while providing technical advice on financial reporting, tax, and system processes.
  • Develop proficiency in cloud-based platforms such as Xero and Taxlab, supporting clients' finance departments.
  • Work alongside internal teams including Tax, Strategy Risk & Transactions, and Accounting & Reporting Advisory to deliver superior client service.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently pursuing any degree with a strong enthusiasm for business; Commerce degrees with Accounting or Finance focus are beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Possession or pursuit of Chartered Accountancy or CPA qualifications is common though not obligatory if motivated to acquire business advisory skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with a passion for business and numbers.
  • Ambitious, diligent, and personable with excellent communication capabilities and emotional intelligence to balance diverse client needs and priorities.
  • No prior professional experience is required; part-time jobs or internships in accounting, finance, customer service, retail, or hospitality are advantageous.
