Role overview
This Grade VIII position provides managerial and administrative backing to the Office of the IHA Lead for Disability Services and Mental Health. It supports the rollout of disability and mental health services across HSE South West, ensuring work is aligned with statutory obligations, available resources, and agreed service-plan targets. The role is a key part of the IHA structure and combines leadership, administration, coordination, and service-support responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Support the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of disability and mental health services for service users, within national and IHA policy frameworks and the resources available.
- Help ensure services are delivered to a consistently high standard while working within approved resources.
- Act as a lead administrator for the Office of the IHA Lead.
- Coordinate and maintain effective communication between the IHA Lead office and relevant HSE South West offices, national HSE teams, and outside stakeholders.
- Take ownership of specific areas of work assigned by the IHA Lead, including committees, workstreams, and projects.
- Provide leadership to staff so service delivery reflects the new model of care and supports integrated care for patients and clients.
- Assist clinical leadership with governance and implementation of integrated service delivery, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
