Job description
About the National Screening Service
The National Screening Service (NSS) in Ireland manages four national population-based screening programmes: cervical, breast, bowel screening, and the detection of sight-threatening retinopathy in individuals with diabetes. Our core mission is to identify early signs of disease in healthy individuals, aiming to prevent illness, reduce disease complications, and ensure timely and effective treatment. The NSS Strategic Plan 2023-2027, 'Choose Screening: Together we can make a difference,' outlines our priorities for enhancing population health through screening.
Our mission is to deliver screening programmes that help prevent, reduce the risk of, and assist in the recognition of disease across Ireland. Our vision is to collaborate to save lives and improve public health through effective population screening.
The Opportunity
This role involves joining the BreastCheck AIRE support team, contributing to the effective administration of the BreastCheck programme's register function under the guidance of the BreastCheck Register Manager.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in the continuous enhancement of the AIRE software system by conducting timely user acceptance testing (UAT) in collaboration with fellow AIRE Support Officers.
- Assisting in the broader coordination of BreastCheck end-user acceptance testing, both at a local level and across the entire programme, to drive ongoing system improvements and development.
- Managing support tickets and change request tickets using the JIRA software ticketing system.
- Contributing to the creation of detailed process maps and documentation to standardize operating procedures and workflows within the AIRE system.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders across the programme to devise solutions for intricate challenges.
- Providing support to AIRE Superusers in each unit by disseminating current communications and delivering training to enable them to offer ongoing assistance to end-users within their respective BreastCheck Units.
- Offering administrative support for the testing of screening and assessment-related communications, such as invitation letters, and updating these communications within the AIRE software system according to current Q-pulse revisions. This includes supporting the BreastCheck Register Manager in coordinating time-sensitive tasks.
