The organisation is seeking an enthusiastic Governance and Compliance Support Officer who is eager to build a long-term career and help manage administrative activity across local offices.

Role Overview

This position reports to the Governance and Compliance Manager and covers the day-to-day administrative elements of governance and compliance across ROI. You will serve as a main contact for administrators in Operations and Training, helping coordinate and consolidate compliance reporting while ensuring governance, training, and compliance activities are completed in line with HSE and HIQA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Operations team to help maintain the ROI compliance audit timetable.
  • Assist the Area Nursing team by coordinating with Operations when governance follow-up is needed.
  • Support the Governance and Compliance team with producing reports and reviewing information for the monthly compliance dashboard.
  • Offer administrative assistance to the Compliance & Governance Lead whenever required.
  • Handle routine compliance queries for ROI and route them to the right person or escalate them where necessary.
  • Support induction training and help ensure compliance processes are understood and applied consistently.
  • Help carry out internal audits and checks against HSE and HIQA standards.
  • Raise emerging trends and risks with the Compliance & Governance Lead.
  • Support policy administration by keeping documents up to date, accessible, and stored in an accurate policy database.
  • Circulate updated governance documents to the appropriate teams.
  • Maintain version control and accurate document records.
  • Keep clear and current records in compliance logs, risk registers, and action follow-up files.
  • Assist with preparation for external audits and inspections.
  • Carry out additional duties as required, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong understanding of compliance auditing practices.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a junior compliance position.
  • Good knowledge of governance principles.
  • A proactive attitude toward daily tasks and workload.
  • Well organised with strong efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Advanced Excel ability.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
