Overview

Based in the UK, this leadership role reports directly to the Global HR Director and oversees a team of three. The Global HR Organisational Effectiveness Director is instrumental in driving the strategic and operational aspects of people, organisation design, systems, and change initiatives critical to extensive company-wide transformation projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with senior leadership, including the Executive Leadership Team and Transformation Office, to align people and organisation strategies with broader enterprise transformation goals.
  • Develop comprehensive HR transformation plans, outlining clear milestones, dependencies, and risk management frameworks.
  • Lead the HR segments of transformation workstreams encompassing organisation design, workforce transitions, capability development, communications, engagement, and risk management related to people.
  • Define and implement future operating models and organisational structures that reinforce accountability, reduce redundancy, and enhance effectiveness across global business units and support functions.
  • Design and execute a global change management strategy including stakeholder engagement, leadership alignment, training programs, and adoption monitoring across diverse international markets.
  • Collaborate with Global IT and HR leadership to improve HR system strategies, data governance, and reporting capabilities that support reliable, actionable insights into workforce metrics.
  • Strengthen and optimize HR operating models and processes to better support business transformation, drive efficiency, and enhance the overall user experience.

Key Deliverables for First 12-18 Months

  • Establishment of a clear HR transformation roadmap aligned with corporate strategies.
  • Successful implementation of organisational design changes in prioritized areas.
  • Development and deployment of a comprehensive global change management framework and practical tools.
  • Improved standards for people data management and consistent HR reporting.
  • Updated HR systems roadmap aligned with enterprise-wide system strategies.
  • Enhanced governance, risk management, and progress monitoring of HR initiatives.
  • Improved organisational effectiveness metrics, including workforce structure, cost, capability, attrition, and engagement.
  • A practical, adaptable change adoption model that ensures both global consistency and local flexibility.

Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an accomplished HR or organisational effectiveness leader with substantial experience in large, complex international settings. They should possess:

  • Proven success leading HR and organisational workstreams in large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Experience collaborating within global, matrixed, and operationally intensive environments at a scale comparable to multinational corporations.
  • Strong skills in change management, including senior stakeholder engagement and adoption assessments.
  • Specialised knowledge in organisational effectiveness, HR transformation, organisation design, or people analytics.
  • Experience influencing HR systems, workforce data governance, and HR analytics frameworks.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Experience in FTSE 100, Fortune 500, or equivalent multinational firms.
  • Familiarity with operationally intensive industries such as business services, facilities and healthcare management, logistics, and telecommunications.
  • Work in organisations with widespread branches, regional structures, and significant frontline operations.
  • Past roles including Global OE Director, HR Transformation Director, Organisation Design Director, or senior consultant roles focused on organisational effectiveness.
