About the Role
Genius Sports harnesses cutting-edge technology and premier live data to usher in a new era of sports that offers fans worldwide immersive, interactive, and highly personalized experiences. The Global Head of Football Partnerships will spearhead and implement a worldwide football strategy designed to forge and expand partnerships across the entire football ecosystem, which includes leagues, federations, clubs, rights holders, media partners, sponsors, and commercial stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this high-level position aims to boost commercial growth by leveraging the company's technology, data, and distribution strengths.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and deliver a comprehensive global football strategy to create and grow partnerships with leagues, federations, and clubs.
- Drive revenue through new business initiatives, partnerships, and inventive monetization models.
- Enhance and manage media and data-related assets across football platforms to maximize commercial potential.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key players in the worldwide football ecosystem to ensure sustained value alignment.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a top-performing global team.
- Work collaboratively with commercial, product, and marketing teams to implement unified partnership strategies.
- Identify and successfully negotiate rights agreements that meet the company's commercial goals.
- Develop strategies based on deep understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the global football arena.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in the sports industry, particularly with extensive knowledge of global football.
- Proven success in acquiring rights, establishing partnerships, and generating revenue streams.
- Experience managing senior teams that are globally dispersed, particularly in dynamic or complex settings.
- An established network within the global football community, including clubs, leagues, and federations.
- Strong commercial insight paired with excellent negotiation and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, execution-focused mindset.
