Position Overview
We are seeking a Global Account Director specializing in Payment Partnerships for WooCommerce, based in Australia. This pivotal role involves spearheading one of the company's key global commercial relationships, focusing on driving revenue growth, fostering executive engagement, and securing long-term success for strategic partnerships. It entails close collaboration with various departments including product, engineering, finance, legal, marketing, and executive leadership to devise and implement multi-year strategies that open global business opportunities and enhance payment capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the strategic and commercial outcomes of a significant global payment partnership by promoting continual revenue growth, joint business initiatives, and go-to-market execution.
- Design and implement long-term partnership plans that align with commercial aims, product development, investment strategies, and market expansion.
- Develop trusted executive relationships across partner organizations, acting as the primary point of contact to enable cooperation and alignment.
- Lead executive business assessments, contract negotiations, strategic planning, and resolution of partnership issues with senior-level stakeholders.
- Manage cross-departmental coordination among product, engineering, marketing, legal, finance, and operations to ensure partnership success.
- Discover new markets, merchant segments, payment capabilities, and commercial opportunities to create shared value.
- Track partnership success metrics through financial reporting, KPIs, and presentations to executives, promoting accountability and improvement.
- Maintain comprehensive insight into the global payments industry to detect new technologies, competitor shifts, and strategic growth prospects.
- Convert payment requirements into operational priorities while working with technical teams on integration and product development.
- Develop operational procedures and governance models that facilitate seamless collaboration between global teams and partners.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years' experience in strategic partnerships, enterprise account management, business development, or commercial leadership specifically within the payments sector.
- Demonstrated track record in managing and expanding large strategic partnerships with considerable recurring revenues and ambitious growth targets.
- In-depth knowledge of global payment systems encompassing merchant acquiring, payment service providers, interchange economics, payment networks, and bank transfer mechanisms.
- Strong commercial expertise with experience negotiating intricate partnership contracts, revenue-sharing agreements, and long-term strategies.
- Ability to explain technical payment concepts clearly and collaborate with product and engineering teams to assess integration feasibility and plan roadmaps.
- Proven ability to cultivate executive-level relationships and influence senior leadership both inside and outside the organization.
- Advanced analytical skills including financial modeling and business case development to evaluate investments and ROI.
- Experience in directing cross-functional teams across various business functions without formal managerial authority.
- Exceptional project coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Comfort working with internationally distributed teams across various time zones in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Experience managing multinational partnerships is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
