Job description
About the Role
The GET-NPI position is central to managing New Product Introduction (NPI) within Final Assembly, Test, and Pack (FATP) operations. The role ensures seamless transfer of new products from development stages into stable, high-quality manufacturing production. It requires meticulous coordination of build readiness, process validation, and operational support during Engineering Validation Test (EVT), Production Validation Test (PVT), and Mass Production (MP) phases.
Responsibilities
- Oversee FATP NPI activities for EVT, PVT, and MP build stages, validating that all process, material, and equipment elements are prepared.
- Review and manage Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and other critical product documentation to ensure accuracy and timely update implementation.
- Collaborate intensely with Process, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to synchronize build plans, manage risks, and enable smooth transition from prototypes to full-scale production.
- Perform capability analysis, trial manufacturing runs, and readiness evaluations to ensure process robustness before production ramp-up.
- Work alongside global Research & Development, tooling, and equipment teams facilitating the successful transfer of technology and confirming resource availability.
- Provide direct technical support, training, and mentorship to production and quality teams during new model introductions and early production phases.
- Track and analyze build performance indicators such as yield and defect levels, initiating corrective measures if targets are unmet.
- Identify potential risks regarding product, process, material, or equipment readiness, documenting and escalating these while contributing to risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality protocols, and internal as well as ISO manufacturing procedures throughout NPI activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned after each launch and standardizing best practices across projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
- Proven knowledge of manufacturing workflows, new product introduction processes, and product transfer management in FATP or comparable environments.
- Experience handling BOMs, ECNs, product documentation, and engineering change control mechanisms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, production, and supply chain management.
- Strong analytical aptitude with proficiency in process capability assessment, risk identification, and resolution strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to support technical interactions and facilitate training sessions.
- Familiarity with quality systems, safety regulations, and ISO-oriented manufacturing standards.
- Detail-focused with strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple priorities in dynamic settings.
- Preferred experience includes exposure to EVT, PVT, MP builds, electronics or consumer product manufacturing, process validation, Lean Six Sigma approaches, and continuous improvement practices.
- Knowledge of global collaboration, technology transfer, statistical process control, and corrective actions is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience in production line setup, tooling readiness, equipment qualification, and interpreting technical drawings and specs.
