Role Overview

Joining BCG as a Junior Consultant or Consultant means engaging with top experts to work on projects that transform businesses, governments, and society. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to analyze multifaceted business challenges, gaining skills and experience to advance your career at BCG and beyond.

Consulting tasks vary in complexity, length, and location, often requiring client site work and potential international travel. Candidates are considered for either level based on qualifications and during interviews.

Junior Consultant Responsibilities

• Assist case team members and clients by applying business insights to support analyses.
• Take full ownership of project workstreams as experience grows.

Consultant Responsibilities

• Develop specialized knowledge and manage larger, more complex project components.
• Work closely with clients to identify their challenges, design strategies for change, and secure agreement on recommendations.
• Partner with colleagues to convert client potential into measurable performance improvements.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Outstanding academic achievements at undergraduate or postgraduate levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, PhD).
• Minimum of three years full-time experience for Junior Consultant, ideally more than five years for Consultant roles, with proven success in consulting or industry positions.
• Industry expertise in sectors such as mining, oil and gas, engineering, climate and sustainability, consumer products, private equity, public sector, finance, law, healthcare, technology, or telecommunications preferred.
• Strong analytical and creative thinking capabilities with excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills.
• Innovative mindset featuring the ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex concepts.
• Exceptional communication and client relationship skills.
• Flexibility, curiosity, and creativity paired with openness to new ideas.
• Self-motivated and independent judgment.
• Team-oriented attitude, high ethical standards, and a positive approach.
• Willingness to travel interstate and work remotely at client locations.
