Job description
Role overview
This position involves carrying out a range of skilled manual operations and using machines and testing tools to support repairs of gas turbine components. The role reports to the Operations Leader.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out blending and polishing work on metal surfaces and coated parts.
- Handle manual drilling as part of the cooling-hole reopening process.
- Use testing equipment including airflow, waterflow, and moment weighing tools.
- Operate equipment such as robotic polishers, shot peening machines, and cold spray systems.
- Maintain product quality, take care of equipment, meet output and pace targets, and keep the work area clean and organized according to schedule.
- Follow all required EHS rules and safety procedures, and report unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
- Assist in other work areas whenever assigned.
Requirements
- Secondary education completed or a higher qualification; a Professional Certificate or NiTEC in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- About 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred, though applicants without direct experience may still be considered.
- Prior use of pneumatic or powered hand tools.
- Ability to communicate in basic English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts.
