About the Opportunity

The U.S. Navy is inviting Final-Year General Surgery Residents, Fellows, and Board-Eligible/Board-Certified General Surgeons to join as Active Duty Medical Corps Officers. This role involves delivering high-quality medical care to Sailors, Marines, and their families while benefiting from competitive compensation, significant professional development, and a work-life balance rarely found in traditional surgery practices.

Compensation and Incentives

  • Annual base salary ranging between $325,000 and $379,000
  • Sign-on bonus up to $700,000
  • Annual specialty incentive pay of $66,000
  • Annual board certification pay worth $8,000
  • Tax-free monthly housing allowance based on assigned duty location
  • Financial support for Continuing Medical Education (CME)
  • Complete relocation expenses covered by the Navy

  • Perform a wide variety of general surgical procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Possession of an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school or ECFMG certification
  • Completion or final year status in an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program
  • Board certification or board-eligible in General Surgery
  • U.S. citizenship mandatory
  • Must be between 21 and 64 years old in accordance with Title 10 U.S. Code sections 531 and 532
