Job description
Role and Facility Overview
The Department of Medical Imaging at Vancouver Island Health Authority, based in Victoria, is actively seeking a skilled General Radiologist who specializes in Nuclear Medicine. This role encompasses a broad scope of imaging modalities including PET/CT, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, general radiology practices, and areas aligned with the applicant's interests.
Professional Expectations
Applicants with subspecialty qualifications or significant experience in Nuclear Medicine or related specialties will be preferred. Expertise in breast imaging, particularly screening, is considered advantageous. Responsibilities will involve all aspects of medical imaging and minor interventional procedures.
The position requires participation in a comprehensive call schedule providing 24-hour imaging services. Additionally, engagement in educational activities is expected, including teaching residents via the UBC Department of Radiology and instructing medical students within the UBC Island Medical Program.
Work Settings
The team supports a range of imaging services from general to tertiary care across sites such as Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, Lady Minto Hospital, and an outpatient Ultrasound clinic, servicing southern Vancouver Island.
Candidate Requirements
Eligible candidates must hold certifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and qualify for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
Additional Information
Starting date for employment is flexible. Compensation will be on a fee-for-service basis.
