About the Opportunity
SeaLink Marine, based at Hobsonville Marina in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a dynamic and commercially focused General Manager to oversee the business's strategy and performance. This senior leadership role involves guiding all aspects of operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable services while fostering robust relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for SeaLink Marine Auckland.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across various operational and management functions.
- Manage financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and operational improvements.
- Oversee marine operations, asset management, risk, safety, compliance, and customer service standards.
- Ensure contractual obligations and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
- Drive business growth and identify new opportunities within the marine sector.
- Maintain strong engagement with government agencies, regulators, clients, and community stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior leadership experience managing complex, regulated operations such as marine, transport, infrastructure, or public transport businesses.
- Strong track record in leading safety-critical operations within a highly regulated environment.
- Expertise in financial management and operational performance enhancement.
- Experience managing major client relationships, government contracts, and service delivery agreements.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic planning, change management, and contract mobilization.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, including handling media, public affairs, and crisis communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including regulators, political stakeholders, employees, and community partners.
