Role overview
Transdev Ontario Manitoba is seeking a General Manager to lead its Non-Emergency Medical Transportation division across the GTA and Central Ontario. This role is being hired ahead of an expected opening and reports to the Director of Non-Emergency Medical Transport, Ontario. The position is based in office and includes travel to other Ontario locations.
The General Manager will shape regional strategy, support business development, and guide the team toward stronger growth, service quality, sustainability, and profitability. A major part of the role is building effective relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners while ensuring the division aligns with company direction.
Strategic planning
- Study proposals, documents, and business information to set short- and long-term priorities that support organizational goals.
- Turn the company vision and mission into a practical regional plan with goals and objectives for teams and individuals.
- Promote continuous improvement by expanding the business, raising service quality, improving efficiency, developing staff, and strengthening financial results.
Contracts and customer relations
- Make sure contractual service standards and KPIs are met.
- Share industry best practices and lead quarterly customer discussions.
- Use data to improve performance and strengthen patient transportation flow.
- Embed Transdev Ontario’s processes and presence more deeply into the healthcare system to support long-term stability.
- Apply sound labour relations practices, including involvement in future collective bargaining, collective agreement administration, and grievance resolution.
Leadership
- Coach, develop, motivate, and train employees so team and department objectives are met.
- Help maintain a positive, open, and solution-focused employee relations environment.
- Support independent contractor compliance, growth, and performance while monitoring revenue targets and business goals.
- Review monthly KPI reports and decide on actions to improve results.
- Support managers in meeting service-level protocols and compliance expectations.
- Build and reinforce a strong safety-first culture.
Operations
- Oversee corporate account bookings and business development activity.
- Recommend strategic approaches for business improvement.
- Apply best practices consistently with fairness, equality, and objectivity.
- Manage annual performance goals, staff reviews, and weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
- Solve complex issues with immediate and long-term impact by working across teams.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities early and implement changes to reduce negative impact or capture improvements.
Public relations
- Coordinate staff availability for media and public relations events when required.
- Oversee press development and help organize invitations for prospective promoters and supporters.
Administration
- Lead preparation of the annual report covering short- and long-range progress.
- Ensure production and quality control data is documented accurately.
- Maintain client and vendor file integrity and oversee accuracy in records, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Help create forms and tools that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000 per year.
