Role Overview
We are seeking a General Manager for Ireland who will also fulfill statutory directorship duties. This role focuses on leveraging Brenntag's Last Mile Operations in Ireland to create strategic benefits for our customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Position Brenntag’s Last Mile Operations as a competitive advantage for customers and suppliers.
- Execute the Brenntag Essentials division’s growth strategy encompassing sales, customer service, logistics, operations, and safety.
- Manage site operations, equipment, and personnel with strategic foresight in capacity, investment, and workforce planning.
- Utilize KPIs and profit & loss data to monitor and improve business metrics including volume, gross profit, personnel, and operational costs.
- Drive consistent increases in gross profit while enhancing conversion rates and optimizing working capital metrics related to inventory and receivables.
- Collaborate closely with regional sourcing, product management, and material management to manage volume, pricing, and stock levels.
- Champion Brenntag’s corporate culture by setting clear guidelines, expectations, and KPIs for team members.
- Uphold stringent safety standards, enforce zero tolerance for unsafe practices, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Maintain documented procedures for workflows in cooperation with site employees and higher-level organizational departments.
Candidate Profile
- Holds an academic qualification in business administration, industrial sales, industrial management, marketing, operations management, sales, supply chain management, logistics, or finance.
- Possesses extensive and proven experience in sales or manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrates a successful track record in executive leadership and management roles.
- Combines strong commercial insight with operational expertise.
- Exhibits entrepreneurial mindset with a result-oriented approach.
- Acts as a safety role model with commitment to best practices.
- Self-driven, assertive, energetic, with a determined and competitive spirit.
- Exemplifies independent thinking while being a strong collaborator and team player.
- Displays excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, and creative skills.
- Shows enthusiasm for digital technologies and solutions.
- Experience in the chemical industry is advantageous.
