About the Role

We are collaborating with a global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) to recruit an experienced General Manager to head a substantial operational division based in the United Kingdom. This role commands complete accountability for the unit's business results, organisational efficiency, client relationships, operational delivery, and long-term value generation. The appointee will take charge of an existing leadership team to drive sustainable expansion, enhance operational outcomes, and strategically position the business for upcoming market prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume full ownership of the business unit’s performance, including revenue generation, profitability, operational service levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and inspire a senior leadership team while promoting a culture grounded in accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Design and implement strategic initiatives that bolster competitiveness, scalability, and enduring business value.
  • Oversee operational and organisational transformation programs aligned with future growth strategies.
  • Forge and maintain robust partnerships with key customers, strategic allies, and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify avenues for organic growth, boosting operational effectiveness, and enhancing financial outcomes.
  • Contribute to capital investment evaluations and long-term business planning efforts.
  • Develop leadership capabilities and succession plans to guarantee the organisation’s sustainability.
  • Maintain the highest standards in quality, compliance, governance, and risk management.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive senior leadership experience with direct Profit & Loss responsibility.
  • Proven track record of steering large operational organisations through phases of growth, investments, integration, or transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to elevate business performance while upholding exceptional customer service.
  • Strong commercial insight with skill in translating strategic plans into tangible outcomes.
  • Experience working within private equity-backed firms, publicly traded companies, or multinational corporations.
  • History of building, nurturing, and retaining high-performing leadership teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and credibility engaging with executives and board members.
  • Capability to balance high-level strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution.
