General Manager - Asian Restaurant

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive General Manager to lead our Asian dining venue, XIAO, located in Oberhausen. As a dynamic leader with a passion for the gastronomy sector, you will independently oversee the restaurant operations, acting like an entrepreneur. By relieving the executive management and collaborating closely with your restaurant team, you will ensure seamless daily workflows and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Your role involves mentoring and managing your team to continually enhance performance, with a forward-thinking approach focusing on sustainable success. An enthusiasm for the XIAO brand and the ability to inspire others with this passion are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a XIAO restaurant generating 4 to 5 million euros in net annual revenue, hosting approximately 150,000 guests yearly, with a staff of around 60 employees.
• Hold operational accountability for all restaurant functions.
• Recruit new employees and develop a pool of emerging talent.
• Create and implement training programs for new and existing personnel.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and quality standards.
• Oversee efficient inventory management and optimal staff scheduling.
• Plan personnel deployment effectively.
• Maintain the restaurant's profitability and operational efficiency by setting clear goals and KPIs, and initiate corrective measures if necessary.
• Manage guest relations professionally to maintain high satisfaction.
• Facilitate smooth communication between the restaurant and executive management.
• Liaise with internal departments such as HR, Marketing, Purchasing, and Controlling.
• Communicate engagingly with external partners and consumers.

Candidate Profile

• Proven managerial experience in a comparable role within the system catering industry, preferably with several years as a restaurant manager.
• Prior experience working with buffet-style restaurant concepts.
• Proficient in English.
• Strong operational expertise, embodying both hospitality and entrepreneurial qualities as an inspiring and supportive leader who motivates the team to excel.
• Solid grounding in business administration.
• Well-developed entrepreneurial mindset and analytical capability.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
