Job description
About the Company
ALS is a global scientific testing and data insights organisation focused on helping create a healthier future. The company values people who are motivated to learn, contribute, and grow within a supportive international team.
Role Overview
ALS is hiring General Laboratory Operators for the LECO Department with an immediate start. The available position is for the night shift, running from 1:30am to 8:15am, with a Sunday start at 8:00pm.
Working Pattern
This position is mainly Monday to Friday, though weekend overtime may be required from time to time.
Qualification and Training
Applicants should have full or partial secondary education and be able to understand and carry out both spoken and written instructions. No prior experience is usually needed because full training will be provided, although laboratory experience would be an advantage.
Key Duties
The role involves following laboratory safety practices, handling samples carefully, supporting accurate records, working to assigned tasks, and operating equipment in line with manuals and instructions. You will also be expected to keep the workplace tidy, flag issues or hazards, and contribute ideas for improving methods or operations.
Quality and Compliance
Records and work practices must meet ISO 17025, INAB requirements, and the laboratory quality management system. Proper completion of worksheets, forms, and sign-off records is part of the role.
Inclusion and Support
ALS promotes an inclusive environment and welcomes applicants of all ability levels. Reasonable adjustments can be requested to support candidates during the hiring process.
Eligibility
To work for ALS, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of the relevant country, or they must already hold, or be able to secure, a valid work visa.
Application Note
Applicants are asked to submit an online application along with a resume and cover letter that show their motivation and ability to meet the role requirements.
