Job description
Job Overview and Responsibilities
The role involves managing daily liquidity to ensure sufficient balances in the Bank's Nostro accounts for funding and settlement requirements. You will oversee funding gap positions to maximize liquidity efficiency and revenue growth. Interest rate risk will be actively managed through various instruments including FX swaps, interest rate swaps, and futures, to enhance portfolio profitability. Staying informed of market trends in rates, spreads, and FX basis is crucial for adapting positions appropriately.
Additional tasks include identifying yield improvement opportunities via relative value, duration positioning, and funding arbitrage within the desk's limits, executing trades across Sovereign, supranational, and agency bonds (SSAs), as well as Repo and Money Markets. Preparing daily cash flow statements and producing liquidity projection reports to meet regulatory and internal risk compliance is essential. The role also encompasses contributing SORA rates per regulations and addressing queries regarding Foreign Currency Funds Transfer Pricing.
Collaboration is key, with responsibilities to resolve settlement issues alongside both internal teams and external partners. Market research and delivering weekly updates on currency and interest rate trends for Treasury briefings are part of the ongoing duties. Maintaining and fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties is expected, along with any additional assignments from management.
