Role overview
This position supports a locally owned store in delivering health, beauty, and everyday convenience services, while keeping the customer experience at the heart of the operation.
The main focus of the job is to oversee customer service activities, including cash handling, cashier support, and merchandising coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Make sure cashier and merchandising team members follow store rules, procedures, and operating standards.
- Provide training, direction, and ongoing support to cashiers and merchandisers.
- Help enforce loss-prevention controls, including daily cash office inventory, cashier tracking, tracking sheets, and PC Optimum procedures.
- Ensure employees maintain a professional appearance in line with the uniform policy.
- Handle customer questions about product locations, rainchecks, and related store inquiries.
- Resolve customer concerns such as refunds and exchanges within established guidelines.
- Encourage customers to participate in the CSI Survey.
- Keep shelves neat, organized, and properly rotated.
- Set up and remove product displays as directed by the AFSM/FSM.
- Maintain store cleanliness, housekeeping standards, and overall store presentation.
- Follow all health and safety requirements.
- Support clerical and banking tasks when needed.
- Follow all store policies, procedures, and loss-prevention rules.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, including cashier duties when required.
Qualifications and working style
The role calls for sound judgment, planning ability, and independent thinking when organizing the store. Strong problem-solving skills are important for maintaining customer satisfaction.
Candidates should be comfortable using computers, staying organized, working efficiently, and managing time well. A working knowledge of products and supplies is also helpful.
Compensation and additional information
The hiring range for this role is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, with pay potentially adjusted based on experience, knowledge, and the geographic location of the store.
