Job description
Role Overview
N4 Studio is looking for an experienced website copywriter and content strategist who can craft persuasive, conversion-oriented website messaging and work comfortably with content-led design processes. Alongside writing, the role also involves creating low-fidelity wireframes and content outlines to support a smooth transition into design.
About N4 Studio
N4 Studio is an international digital agency of about 60 people, focused on Webflow design, development, and growth. As Webflow’s top Enterprise Partner globally, the team serves clients who expect thoughtful, high-quality content to match their website ambitions.
Working Model
This is not a traditional full-time employment role and it is not a one-off assignment. Instead, the studio is assembling a roster of reliable copywriters and strategists who can be brought in as suitable projects arise.
When a project matches your background, you will receive the project scope, schedule, and a fixed fee. You can accept or decline based on your availability. The arrangement is flexible and suited to writers who often manage multiple clients and prefer a steady source of project work rather than constant prospecting. Work arrives in bursts, so there may be quieter periods, but delivery is typically fast when a project is active.
What the Work Involves
The studio’s assignments are website projects for both B2B and B2C clients across many industries. Content work generally falls into two stages.
In the first stage, you will help define narrative and messaging direction by collaborating closely with the project designer. This phase ends with a client-facing presentation that includes strategic content recommendations and early copy ideas.
In the second stage, you will turn the strategic foundation into polished website copy that is aligned with the brand, optimized for SEO and AEO, and ready to move through drafting, revisions, and handoff to design.
You may contribute to either one phase or both, depending on the project and your experience.
What the Team Is Looking For
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio of website copy across multiple industries and brand styles, including work for businesses with complicated offers. You should be able to adapt tone and voice while keeping the writing clear and strong. Experience working with design teams, or inside design-led environments, is important because copy and layout are closely connected in this process.
A solid understanding of SEO principles and how content performs in search, including AI-influenced search behavior, is required. You should also be comfortable using Figma, since all content is created and shared there alongside the project designer.
Experience facilitating content strategy workshops or guiding clients through messaging frameworks would be a strong advantage.
Application Details
Applicants must include their hourly rate for copywriting work and, if relevant, their hourly rate for narrative and messaging strategy work, along with the currency used. They should also provide a brief summary of the types of web copy projects they have handled and indicate whether they consider themselves junior, mid-level, or senior. A portfolio link or a few relevant website copy samples are required for consideration.
Location
This role is fully remote. The team works with writers based in New Zealand, the UK, Europe, North America, and other regions, and welcomes applications from strong candidates regardless of location.
